What a fantastic first day! The weather is beautiful, the water is clear and the kids are all happy and full of excitement. After a smooth trip over on the Flyer, everyone had lunch and settled in before our first snorkel.

I don't think I have ever experienced a better first time out than today. The water is warmer than usual, at 63 degrees, and that makes all the difference. In Study Group 7, we saw Garibaldi, Blacksmith and a beautiful Senorita. Other groups reported seeing Rays and Leopard Sharks. Not only that, we saw Dolphins swimming alongside the water taxis as we made our way from Avalon to Toyon Bay and there was a Bison lounging on the beach when we arrived at camp. Does it get any better?

Tonight, the kids are learning about nocturnal anaimals and mammal marine animals. They already had a chance to go to the CIMI store so we have lots of red-sweatshirted kids in our midst. We predict that all will hit their pillows and be fast asleep in no time after lights out.

Mr. Brooks, Mr. Compton and I discussed how proud we are of the whole group. They have done a great job all day!

Stay tuned for more news........
